wrote this years ago when i was trying to adjust to working in LA
lyrics
battle of Versailles
lost on the first night
vulgar elevator groans and drags me up the flights
to the ballad of Ming Li
that the devil sang to me
shade the shattered soul inside a suicidal suite
and ill try to catch your eyes while you dry off
to see for certain if this thing is done
n' all the little demons that we left tied up
they're wild they'll run
never took the time to find out whether
this was the life you were meant to lead
ive been seeing stars crying lost on Mars
feel the fading trust
feel the givin' up
thinkin that it might be best to leave
let your westward heart run free
if youve ever been to hell then you'll know that theres a tree
climb its twisted branches as it figs fall underneath
where the lovers scratch their names
children play their games
watch the years run forward till the garden takes their flames
and it runs their colors deep
till they break like waves of sorrow on a hungry coral reef
baby come and lie down, i need to keep my sights on
cause i think you might be runnin' out on me
turn yourself around its stay in weather
laughing at this poor attempt at stoned love letter
oh to come in love inside your door
please
Mamma wrap me up
you know i need your love
know without your touch im lost at sea
and this city's bleeding the light right out of me
Chelsea brang me flowers Quessenberry sweetened hours
as the ladies walked along with plastic tits and tatooed eyes
oh sweet Beverly
oh sweet Hillary
lay down like two lovers take the poison go to sleep
Oh the stale smell of all these dreams just dying off
like scent of murder leaves the mouth struck dumb
and all these little demons you thought you were buyin off
theyre wild
theyve won
turn yourself around its stay in weather
countin down the minutes till you leave
ive been callin cars
lyin' about me heart
come and wrap me up
know ive given up
no no let me go get east
as far as what loves left
will carry me

Just a beautiful jazzy rap album with buttery smooth flows versed with huge talent. It's not only lovely to the ears, but the lyrics are profound and empowering about the struggles that she faces. zhangtastic

Love,
Love,
Love this new material from Jonathan & Tommy! I’ve been a fan of Jonathan’s for 20 years and I recently got the opportunity to see them live in Old Saybrook, CT. Best show I’ve ever been to. Jonathan has the best outlook on life. I wish we could all see the world like he does.
Love you, J & T! pmoods87
